How does early life experiences and social expectations shape understanding of masculanity ?
You will complete a qualitative research report, based on one of the TED Talks (with transcriipt) provided. Using thematic analysis, you will outline one social psychology theme and one developmental psychology theme from your chosen talk. You will analyse the data using Thematic Analysis with an appropriate epistemology.
-The introduction should focus on the relevant theories, empirical research, and critical evaluation of theory and research. You should ensure that the theory and research are used to justify the current report. You need to clearly state the aims of the report in light of the theories and research (and at this point make reference to the use of TA), and clear research question(s).
– word count will be up to 1250 words
-all references included in APA

Moreover, social expectations can also play a role in shaping a person’s understanding of masculinity. In many cultures, there are certain expectations placed on men in terms of their behavior, career choices, and social roles. Men are often expected to be breadwinners, to be emotionally stoic, and to avoid behaviors that are seen as feminine.
These expectations can limit the ways in which men are allowed to express themselves and can lead to a narrow understanding of what it means to be masculine. Men who do not conform to these expectations may be stigmatized or ostracized, which can lead to feelings of shame or inadequacy.
In conclusion, early life experiences and social expectations can have a powerful influence on how an individual understands masculinity. By recognizing and challenging these influences, individuals can work towards a more inclusive and nuanced understanding of what it means to be a man.
